Development cooperation projects are funded in different ways. Each funding is contractually agreed with a donor. In each case, a different arrangement may apply: Some projects are fully funded by one donor, others by several donors. The share a donor pays is regulated, e.g. a fixed amount, a percentage of the costs, a shortfall or the entire project. The different costs within a project can be allocated to different donors.
For each donor involved in a project, you create a funding in WINPACCS. Fundings are assigned in three places:
▪A funding is assigned in a journal for use in Project accounting.
▪If the donor requires reporting in a currency other than the company currency, or the conversion of voucher currencies according to their specifications, you can optionally assign a reporting currency scheme with your own exchange rates to a funding.
▪A budget can also be created for a funding to enable precise budgeting.
The cost vouchers of a project are entered in the assigned journals and assigned to a funding – and thus to a donor – when they are posted in Project accounting. In this way, donor-specific settlements can be created very efficiently in Project controlling. The assigned reporting currency scheme allows the automatic conversion of amounts into the reporting currency of the donor.
