Information on roles

 

 

Access authorisations of users in WINPACCS depend on three elements:

Each user has a user account which consists of a registered email address and a password.

User rights determine which functions and parts of the application the respective users are generally allowed to use.

Assignments (e.g. to projects, journals, cashbooks) determine the data that users are allowed to work with in the applications.

While user accounts and assignments are user-specific, user rights are bundled in user roles and are based on activity profiles. In this way, the same user rights can be efficiently assigned to users with similar tasks (even if the users work with different data or in different projects).

WINPACCS offers numerous standard roles which include all the relevant user rights for all the typical tasks. In addition, you can create custom roles (organisational setting). Custom roles are based on standard roles, but have fewer rights.

Overview

Open a standard role or a custom role with a double click to display the rights it contains. For each right the other user roles that also have this right is displayed.
