To keep personnel costs confidential in the Project accounting, create confidential journals for these postings.
Mark all journals that are to contain confidential salary postings or personnel costs as . Postings in these journals are only visible to users who are allowed to view confidential data. Even the existence of these journals is hidden for unauthorised users in WINPACCS Cloud, WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook:
Activate the setting at .
Then release the journal and publish the project data.
PLEASE NOTE: Journals can only be marked as confidential when you create or release them.

If a user is not authorised to view confidential data, the impacts are as follows:
▪In the menu, confidential journals are not displayed in the Journal overview.
▪Log entries with reference to confidential journals are not displayed.
It is thus not possible for unauthorised users to open confidential journals, view or make postings, or generate reports containing confidential data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Project accountants, who are not allowed to view confidential data, can nevertheless always select the confidential journals – of their own projects and external ones – as the receiving journal, when funds are transferred. This concerns the following transactions:
▪2.1 Forwarding of funds due to currency exchange
▪2.2 Forwarding of funds to external project
▪2.3 Forwarding of funds to external project CC
However, they cannot open these journals and view the postings they contain.
In contrast to the Journal overview in the Journals menu, all the confidential journals of a project are also always visible in the Projects menu under Projects > Project properties > Journals. This allows project accountants who post forwarding of funds to external projects to obtain information about the journals of the recipient projects. However, they cannot see the contents of the journals, or which users are authorised to open them.

Only the assigned users can open cashbooks and view the vouchers. Since cashbooks can only be assigned to two to three users, they are not hidden in the menu in the Cashbook overview, if they are assigned to a confidential journal.
In the menu at , confidential journals of a project are only visible to users who are allowed to view confidential data.
