Fundings

You must assign one or more fundings to each journal. These fundings are used for assigning the vouchers that are posted in this journal to the individual donors for settlement. The funding to which a voucher is assigned indicates who pays the respective costs. You can create fundings in the Project fundings functional group. The assigned fundings are passed on to WINPACCS Accounting when you release the journal and publish the project.

Below the table, click on Edit to change the settings. At the end, click on Save to apply your changes.

Project fundings

The table shows all the project’s fundings that are no longer in the In planning contractual status. Choose the postable setting for all the fundings to which vouchers are to be assigned in this journal in WINPACCS Accounting. To do this, select the postable setting in the Postability column of the respective funding.

Assigning computer-generated postings

The first funding which you have selected the postable setting for is automatically assigned in this section. You can select another funding if other fundings can be posted to.

Which funding are automatically posted rounding differences assigned to?

Specify to which funding the costs and income from rounding differences are assigned. Rounding differences are usually in the decimal range.

For a month-end closing, the moving average rate procedure requires a recalculation of the balances in company currency for the sub-accounts, whose balances are relevant for the balance in calculating the average rate. These are the sub-accounts of the balance account (bank, cash) account class. The balances in company currency of the individual sub-accounts change, but the total of the balances remains the same. This procedure can lead to rounding up/down differences that can be posted as costs or income within the framework of the revaluation.

For further information on the average rate procedure please refer to the Moving Average Rate Procedure in WINPACCS Accounting 4 WINPACCS White Paper which you can download from: www.winpaccs.com.

Which funding are postings for “VAT Head office and other countries” assigned to?

If the tax function is used in WINPACCS Accounting and there is a tax account for VAT payments from the Head office, specify here how these VAT amounts are funded. If the tax authority reimburses VAT to the organisation's Head office (outside the project country), these costs must also be assigned to the Head office via a funding. In cases like this, the VAT tax reduces the supply of funds.
